Lains Love Albert

My name is Lains Love Albert, and I am running for Davie Town Council District 1 because I care about people as a whole.

My life has not followed a straight or easy path. I lost my mother when I was eight years old, and the trials that followed taught me early that life can change without warning. I eventually graduated from Florida Atlantic University, where I served in student government and directed the Night Owls campus safety program — and built much of my professional life around health, wellness, service, entrepreneurship and helping people overcome obstacles.

Professionally, I served as Healthy Living Director at the YMCA of South Florida from 2022 to 2024, then joined Holy Cross Hospital in 2024 as a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Exercise Physiologist, where I significantly expanded the pulmonary rehabilitation program. In January 2026, I was appointed State Captain for Florida with the COPD Foundation — a statewide role focused on pulmonary disease and respiratory health equity. I also earned my real estate license the same week I qualified to run for office; my listings are in Miami and internationally, and there is no intersection between my real estate career and Davie. My only ideas for Davie are preserving the character that makes Davie, Davie.

My civic roots run deep: I am a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Sigma Delta Delta Chapter, the NAACP, the Kiwanis Club, and Florida Rising, and a former county chapter leader with the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition. I filed to run for District 1 on June 12, 2026 — one minute before the deadline.

Those experiences shaped the way I look at public service. I do not believe government can solve every problem in someone’s life, nor should it try to. But I do believe local government has a responsibility to do its job well, use residents’ money responsibly, protect the community, maintain essential infrastructure and make sure people know where to turn when they need help.

That is why my campaign is built around four pillars: Public Safety, Fiscal Transparency, Smart Growth & Innovation, and Health & Economic Access. You can read the full, data-backed platform on the Priorities page — including where each pillar is personal to me.

My decision to enter real estate also came from personal experience.

I have experienced homelessness.

That changed the meaning of housing for me. A home is not simply a piece of property. It can represent stability, dignity, security and the opportunity to rebuild your life.

I am building my real estate career throughout Florida, specializing in luxury residential real estate, commercial property and land development. My long term goal goes beyond transactions. I want to use the capital and experience I build through real estate to help people facing foreclosure and homelessness, support first time homebuyers and, eventually, develop shelters and other resources for people in need.

But my professional involvement in real estate does not mean I believe Davie needs more development. My approach to Davie is centered on preservation, revitalization and infrastructure first.

Before asking where else we can build, I want us asking what we can do for the neighborhoods and businesses already here. How do we refurbish aging properties? How do we support existing businesses? How do we improve drainage? How do we address dangerous intersections? How do we improve traffic flow? How do we make our infrastructure sustainable enough to serve Davie for decades?

Davie already maintains a 10 year capital improvement plan covering infrastructure such as buildings, bridges and roadways, which is reevaluated as safety, environmental and funding priorities change. I want residents to remain at the center of those conversations.
